| Reverse description | The reverse features a crowned medieval ruler — widely identified as Stephen the Great (Ștefan cel Mare) — rendered in high relief at the lower left, raising an Orthodox cross-topped sceptre aloft. To his right, occupying the central and right fields, is a depiction of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova, its text rendered in fine detail. The numeral 25 and the word ANI (years) are prominently inscribed in the upper central field, denoting the 25th anniversary of independence. The curved legend PROCLAMAREA INDEPENDENȚEI REPUBLICII MOLDOVA arcs across the upper periphery of the coin. |
