Obverse description Intaglio portrait of the medieval Georgian poet Shota Rustaveli in three-quarter profile to the right, wearing a period helmet, occupies the right half of the note. The left half carries an intricate guilloche underprint in green and teal tones, with a central rosette vignette and a decorative panel at upper left reproducing an ornamental relief. The issuer name in Georgian script runs vertically along the left margin, with the denomination numeral 100 printed in dark ink at lower right.

Reverse description The central vignette reproduces in detailed intaglio engraving a 7th-century stone bas-relief capital from Martvili Church, showing a frontal ecclesiastical figure flanked by two stylised winged creatures resting on lions, with grapevine scroll decoration above. A fine guilloche underprint in pale blue and ochre tones fills the background. The denomination numeral 100 appears at lower right alongside the Georgian script value, with the English inscription and year 1999 centred below the main vignette.
