| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Angola occupies the central field, depicting a half cogwheel overlaid with a machete and an open book, surmounted by a five-pointed star, all enclosed within a wreath of branches. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE ANGOLA arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters. The date 1999 is inscribed in the lower exergue beneath the arms. The overall design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |

| Reverse description | A three-quarter facing bust of Prince Henry the Navigator dominates the central field, depicted in period armour with an ornate plumed helmet, holding a sceptre or staff in his right hand. A sailing caravel is visible in the right background field, evoking the era of Portuguese maritime exploration. A starburst navigational motif appears in the upper left field. The denomination 100 KWANZA is inscribed to the left of the effigy, while the legend PRINCE HENRY THE NAVIGATOR arcs along the upper border, with the dates 1394-1460 inscribed below it. The design is executed in high relief with a frosted finish against a polished proof field. |
