| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Mehmed V Reshad, rendered in fine calligraphic style. The tughra is flanked by floral and foliate ornamental devices. A wreath of laurel or olive branches frames the lower portion of the design, with a row of five-pointed stars arranged in an arc above the tughra along the upper border. The regnal year notation appears in the lower field within the wreath. |
