Additional information

Issued to mark Croatia's participation in the 1996 Atlanta Games — the country's second Olympic appearance as an independent nation, having debuted at Barcelona in 1992 following the declaration of independence in 1991. Atlanta was also the first Games to include a formal Paralympic program under the same host city organization, which this coin's dual designation acknowledges directly.

KM#41 is one of several Croatian commemorative issues from the mid-1990s targeting the collector market during a period when the kuna itself, reintroduced in 1994, was still establishing credibility as a post-Yugoslav currency.
