| Reverse description | Two ice hockey players in full protective equipment are depicted in dynamic action within a raised inner circle, the foreground player in a crouching stance with stick extended toward the puck, the second player positioned behind and to the right. The Lillehammer 1994 Winter Olympics emblem — comprising a stylised sun and the five Olympic rings — appears at the top of the inner field. The legend LILLEHAMMER 1994 arcs along the left periphery and 100 KRONER along the right, with the engraver's initials NK visible in the left field. |

Norway issued this piece as part of its official commemorative program for the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics — the first Winter Games held separately from the Summer Olympics following the IOC's decision to stagger the cycles. Ice hockey had been a Winter Olympics fixture since 1924, but Lillehammer's tournament carried particular national weight: the Norwegian men's team had never won Olympic gold in the sport, and the host-nation pressure was acute. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
