The "Bridges and Antiquities" series marked the end of an era for Danish note production — Danmarks Nationalbank closed its in-house printing works in 2016 after nearly two centuries of operation, making this series among the last to be produced entirely on Danish soil. The sheer number of signature combinations across the 2009–2015 run reflects genuine board-level turnover at the Nationalbank rather than any reissue policy, giving collectors an unusually granular record of institutional personnel changes across six years.

Karin Birgitte Lund's design commission was part of a deliberate break from the preceding "Radiant" series. The relatively modest security specification — watermark and thread only — was considered adequate at the 100-krone denomination before Denmark's broader contactless payment shift rendered lower-value notes largely redundant in circulation.
