Reverse description The reverse features a finely detailed rendering of an early biplane — representative of the aircraft flown by Silvio Pettirossi during his pioneering 1914 flights — prominently occupying the central field. The large numeral '100' is superimposed over the aircraft's fuselage, with the denomination 'Guaranies' inscribed below. The upper field carries the curved legend 'BANCO CENTRAL DEL PARAGUAY', while the inscription 'PRIMER VUELO 1914-2014' appears beneath it, commemorating the centennial of the first flight. The overall design is executed in high relief against a smooth field, consistent with a commemorative issue.

Additional information

Silvio Pettirossi was Paraguay's first celebrated aviator, killed in 1916 during an air show in Buenos Aires when his Morane-Saulnier monoplane stalled and crashed before a crowd of thousands. He had learned to fly in Europe and was considered one of the most skilled exhibition pilots in South America before his death at 27.

KM#214a is the silver variant of an otherwise base-metal circulating type — issued as a collector piece rather than for general use.
