| Obverse description | Facing bust effigy of Marshal José Félix Estigarribia at center, with the country name REPUBLICA DEL PARAGUAY arched along the upper legend and the abbreviated name MCAL.J.F.ESTIGARRIBIA inscribed across the field. The date of issue 2008 appears in the lower exergue beneath the portrait. The design is rendered in a straightforward relief style typical of Paraguayan circulation coinage. |

A mule — produced when mismatched dies from two different denominations are inadvertently paired — this piece combines dies not intended to be used together, almost certainly the result of a quality control lapse at the Casa de Moneda during a period when Paraguay was issuing multiple denominations in similar alloys simultaneously. Mules of this type rarely survive official inspection, which means examples reaching circulation were missed entirely rather than caught and melted.
