Chinese county-level grain bureaus issued rationing coupons for cooking oil well into the reform era — national food rationing was not fully abolished until 1993, and many localities maintained parallel systems of their own through that transition. Chun'an County sits in western Zhejiang, partially submerged since 1959 when the Xin'an River hydroelectric reservoir was created, displacing over 300,000 residents. Whether that disruption had any lasting effect on local supply logistics is not recorded, but the county's grain administration remained active and issuing into the 1990s.
