Obverse description Facing bust of Geronimo, the Chiricahua Apache leader, wearing a large traditional feathered war bonnet that radiates dramatically around his head. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail, conveying a stern and dignified expression. The legend REPUBLIQUE D'HAITI curves along the upper periphery, while the inscription GERONIMO CHIRICAHUA appears along the lower periphery.

Reverse description The Haitian Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting a royal palm tree flanked by four flags and trophies of arms, with two cannons and cannonballs at the base, and a banner inscribed L'UNION FAIT LA FORCE below. The fineness mark 900 and mintmaster initial IC appear in the lower field to either side of the denomination. The legend LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE curves along the upper periphery, with the denomination 100 GOURDES and date 1971 displayed prominently in the lower field. A beaded border frames the entire design.
