Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Marianne as Liberty, rendered in the neoclassical style after the original design by Louis-Oscar Roty and based on the Barre effigy. Her elaborate flowing hair is adorned with small putti figures nestled among the locks, evoking allegorical richness. Radiating lines emanate from behind her head in a sunburst pattern, filling the field. The legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE is inscribed along the periphery, reading from lower left to upper right, with the engraver's signature D'AP. BARRE appearing in the lower exergue.
