Reverse description The crowned coat of arms of Monaco occupies the central field, displaying the characteristic lozengy pattern of alternating fusils in argent and gules, surmounted by a princely crown. The motto DEO JUVANTE (meaning 'With God's Help') arcs across the upper field, divided to either side of the shield. The denomination 100 FRANCS appears in large letters along the lower periphery, with the word ESSAI (Trial) inscribed in small capitals at the base of the shield. Mintmarks appear to either side of the shield in the field.
