Obverse description The obverse displays the denomination and date in three lines within the field: '100' in large numerals at top, 'FRANCS' in the centre, and '1831' below. The central inscription is framed by a finely detailed laurel wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow, its branches curving upward symmetrically to meet at the top. A dentilated border runs along the inner rim. The overall composition is rendered in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of early July Monarchy coinage essays.
