Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Louis Philippe I facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back in natural waves. The king is depicted with a short beard and prominent sideburns, in a restrained neoclassical style characteristic of the July Monarchy. The engraver's signature GAYRARD F. appears in small letters below the truncation of the neck. The circular legend LOUIS PHILIPPE I ROI DES FRANÇAIS runs along the upper periphery, flanked by a fine beaded border.
