Reverse description A forward-facing bust portrait of President Modibo Keita dominates the field, depicted wearing a traditional embroidered cap and a draped garment. The effigy is boldly rendered in high relief with fine facial detail. The legend PRESIDENT • MODIBO • KEITA curves along the upper periphery, flanked by two five-pointed stars. Along the lower border, the inscription INDEPENDANCE 22 SEPT. 1960 commemorates the date of Mali's independence, completing the design.
