Obverse description Left-facing draped bust of Marianne wearing a Phrygian-style helmet with flowing hair arranged in tight curls at the temples, executed in the neoclassical manner of Augustin Dupré. The figure is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field, with fine drapery folds visible at the truncation. The circular legend REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE arcs around the periphery, flanked by a prominent beaded border. The engraver's signature DUPRÉ appears in script below the bust truncation, with a small star in the lower right field.
