Obverse description At center, a winged allegorical figure — adapted from Augustin Dupré's celebrated design — stands facing right beside a tall classical pedestal, upon which rests a tablet inscribed 'DROITS DE L'HOMME'. The figure is rendered in high relief with fine neoclassical detailing. The legend 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE' curves along the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals. Below the central motif, the engraver's attribution 'D'AP. DUPRÉ' appears in the lower field, along with the mint mark.
