Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Charles X facing right, rendered with finely detailed wavy hair and naturalistic portraiture in the neoclassical style. The legend CHARLES X is inscribed along the left periphery and ROI DE FRANCE along the right, both in raised Latin letters following the coin's curvature. A small engraver's initial appears in the lower field below the truncation. The portrait fills the field with commanding presence, with the king depicted in an unadorned, regal manner befitting the early Restoration coinage.
