Ivory Coast has issued gold miniatures under the CFA franc designation since the early 2010s, a program driven almost entirely by the collectibles market rather than any monetary need. These fractional gold pieces — struck by the Monnaie de Paris or contracted European mints — circulate nowhere and are sold directly into numismatic channels at multiples of face value. The KM#182 reference places this among dozens of near-identical issues in the series.
The Colossus of Zeus at Olympia was destroyed, most likely by fire, sometime in the 5th or 6th century AD — no ancient coin ever depicted it accurately from life.
