Reverse description A full-length artistic rendition of the Colossus of Rhodes is depicted standing astride the harbor entrance, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The figure is shown in classical style, wearing a solar crown and holding a torch aloft in one raised hand. The inscription 'COLOSSE DE RHODES' arcs along the upper rim flanked by asterisks, while the date '2018' and fineness mark 'AU .999' appear in the mid-field. The secondary legend 'LES MERVEILLES DU MONDE ANTIQUE' is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by double asterisks, referencing the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World series.

Additional information

The Colossus of Rhodes collapsed during the earthquake of 226 BC, having stood for fewer than 60 years — making it the shortest-lived of the Seven Wonders. Ivory Coast has issued a long-running series commemorating those Wonders, each in this fractional gold format produced by the Berne-based Coin Invest Trust under license.

CIT pioneered the ultra-small gold collectible format in the 2010s, targeting the entry-level bullion gift market rather than serious numismatic collectors.
