| Additional information |
The Bank of Central African States issues the CFA franc for six member nations — Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo — none of which have any cultural or geographic connection to reindeer. These small-format gold holiday pieces are struck purely for the collector export market, with no meaningful circulation in the issuing territory. The BEAC has produced similar themed bullion miniatures since the early 2010s, effectively licensing its monetary authority to generate numismatic revenue.
