Reverse description Two identical Egyptian cat statuettes (evocative of the goddess Bastet, referencing Malraux's deep engagement with world art and civilisation) are depicted seated symmetrically in the left and right fields, facing inward toward the central legends. Between them, the denomination '100 FRANCS' is prominently inscribed in large characters, surmounted by the Republican motto 'LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ' and the date '1997' at the top. Across the lower field, the titles of four of Malraux's most celebrated literary works are inscribed: 'La Condition Humaine', 'L'Espoir', 'Les Voix du Silence', and 'Antimémoires', flanking a facsimile of the author's signature.
