Obverse description Intaglio portrait of a bearded Algerian man wearing a traditional turban and draped burnous occupies the left vignette, set against a landscape background with mountains, an arched arcade, and wheat ears flanking both margins. The denomination "CENT FRANCS" is printed in large red letterpress at centre, with the Arabic equivalent مائة فرنك below it. Three signature lines appear at centre, with the date printed at upper right within a guilloche panel.
