Comments

The Banque du Royaume du Burundi was the central bank of a constitutional monarchy — Burundi had achieved independence in 1962 under Mwami Mwambutsa IV, and these notes were issued while that monarchy still stood. The kingdom was abolished by coup in July 1966, when Captain Michel Micombero overthrew Mwami Ntare V after just a few months on the throne. Notes bearing the royal bank's title were quickly superseded by issues of the Banque de la République du Burundi.

The tight four-year window makes the complete date range for P#12 genuinely narrow.
