Obverse description Multicolour note based on the New Caledonia Banque de l'Indochine 100 Francs issue (P-42), with a central vignette of a seated woman holding a wreath accompanied by a small figure of Athena. A red oval overprint reads NOUVELLES HÉBRIDES FRANCE LIBRE, incorporating palm trees and the Cross of Lorraine, applied to affirm Free French authority over the territory. Printed obligations and penalty clauses in French appear in the lower border, with the denomination CENT FRANCS and payability clause rendered in intaglio.

Reverse description Multicolour reverse centred on a vignette of the four-faced Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara towers of the Bayon Temple at Angkor, Cambodia, rendered in finely engraved intaglio. The architectural stonework is surrounded by ornate guilloche underprint panels in muted tones. The issuer name BANQUE DE L'INDOCHINE and denomination 100 FRANCS are inscribed across the upper and lower registers respectively.
