| Obverse description | Two seated allegorical female figures personifying Industry and Agriculture flank a central letterpress value panel, with two portrait medallions printed in rose tones on either side. A background vignette of Mercury engraving a stele occupies the upper field, while Article 139 of the Penal Code appears in pink text against a blue underprint at the lower margin. The original "BANQUE DE FRANCE" designation is overprinted with a red band, with the "BANQUE DE MADAGASCAR" inscription added below in a secondary impression. |
