| Additional information |
This piece belongs to a series issued by Niger — a landlocked Sahelian state with no historical connection to the Austro-Hungarian monetary system — licensing its sovereign mint authority to produce miniaturized replicas of classic European coinage for the collector market. The original Franz Joseph 100 Corona was struck in Vienna from 1908 onward as a jubilee issue marking sixty years of Habsburg rule. Niger's involvement is purely contractual; the coin exists because small nations have long monetized their issuing rights to third-party minting operations.
At 0.16 grams, the gold content is nominal.
