Aruba separated from the Netherlands Antilles in 1986 under a "Status Aparte" arrangement, and the Centrale Bank van Aruba has issued its own florin series ever since. Crane Currency — the Massachusetts firm best known as the sole supplier of paper to the U.S. Federal Reserve — took over production of this series, bringing with it the firm's proprietary cotton substrate and integrated security thread technology.
The 2019 issue of P#24 represents a relatively late print run in a long-running denomination. Watermark-only security on a 100-florin note is notably restrained by current standards, though Aruba's low population and limited cash economy reduce counterfeiting pressure significantly.
