| Obverse description | The arms of Malta are depicted centrally, comprising a shield bearing the George Cross on a white canton over vertical stripes, surmounted by a mural crown with five visible towers, and flanked by two olive branches forming a wreath. A scroll beneath the shield bears the legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA. The denomination and fineness legend arcs around the upper field, and the country name MALTA flanked by four-pointed stars appears in the lower legend, all within a dotted border. |

| Additional information |
Melita is the personification of Malta drawn from the island's ancient Roman name, appearing on Maltese coinage since independence and retaining her place through the euro transition — one of the few national allegorical figures to survive the shift to a supranational currency intact. The 2025 issue continues a collector bullion series the Central Bank has issued annually, with each edition technically legal tender but produced exclusively for the numismatic market.
