| Obverse description | Central field features the celebrated La Semeuse (The Sower) figure in high relief, depicted striding purposefully to the left, her flowing robes and hair caught in the wind, scattering seeds with her outstretched right hand while carrying a sack over her left arm. The design draws directly from Oscar Roty's iconic Semeuse motif, rendered here in a contemporary interpretation against a stylised background referencing the euro coin design, with vertical reeded bands to the left and right. Twelve stars of the European Union arc around the upper periphery. The date is split either side of the central figure, reading '20' to the left and '20' to the right, with the monogram 'RF' (République Française) prominently displayed to the right of the sower. |
