Additional information

The 1990 plebiscite referenced here delivered a 94.8% vote in favor of Slovenian independence — one of the most decisive democratic mandates in any European secession event. Slovenia declared independence on June 25, 1991, though the ten-day war with Yugoslav federal forces followed immediately after.
