| Obverse description | The obverse features the celebrated La Semeuse (the Sower), adapted from Oscar Roty's iconic design, depicted as a draped allegorical female figure striding purposefully to the left while scattering seeds with her outstretched right hand. The figure is rendered in high relief against a dark mirror-polished central cartouche from which radiating lines emanate behind her head, evoking light and vitality. The field to the left and right of the central motif is decorated with horizontal ruled lines, while twelve five-pointed stars — referencing the European Union — encircle the design along the border. The Republican monogram 'RF' appears to the right of the figure, with the date of issue divided as '20' to the left and '12' to the right of the central cartouche. |
