Additional information

Armenia's 12-coin zodiac series, issued across the late 2000s, was produced at a moment when the Central Bank was aggressively expanding its commemorative program — partly as a hard-currency revenue strategy, partly to establish the young republic's numismatic identity on the international collector market. The Aries issue is one of the earlier releases in the run.

Struck to .925 fineness on a 28.28g flan, the specification mirrors the Commonwealth standard adopted by dozens of mints producing collector silver in this period — a deliberate choice that kept production costs predictable and secondary-market liquidity high.
