Obverse description The sixteen-pointed Vergina Star, the ancient Macedonian dynastic symbol, rendered in high relief at the centre of the field, surrounded by a beaded border. The legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ (Hellenic Republic) arcs around the upper periphery, while the word ΒΕΡΓΙΝΑ appears below the star. The denomination 100 ΔΡΑΧΜΕΣ and the date are inscribed in the lower field, with the mint mark also present below the central device.
