Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King George I facing right, rendered in high relief with a mature portrait style engraved by Désiré-Albert Barre. The circular legend ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ runs along the periphery, separated by beaded border. The engraver's name ΒΑΡΡΕ appears in small letters below the truncation, with the mint letter A to the left and the date 1876 in the exergue.

(Translation: GEORGE I KING OF THE GREEKS BARRE 1876 A)
Reverse description The Royal Arms of Greece, consisting of a quartered shield bearing a large Greek cross, surmounted by a royal crown and supported on either side by draped mantling, occupies the central field. A ribbon scroll beneath the shield bears the motto ΙΣΧΥΣ ΜΟΥ Η ΑΓΑΠΗ ΤΟΥ ΛΑΟΥ (My strength is the love of the people). The circular legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΙΟΝ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΟΣ arcs across the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 ΔΡΑΧΜΑΙ is prominently inscribed in the lower field, all within a beaded border.
