| Obverse description | The obverse displays the full national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. The shield depicts a three-masted sailing ship approaching a shoreline with a palm tree and a rising sun, flanked by a crossed shovel and pick below; a dove in flight appears above the shield. The arms are encircled by a scrolling ribbon bearing the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The date 1998 is positioned to either side of the shield, flanked by a dove on the left and a torch on the right. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper rim, with REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA repeated within the coat of arms itself, and the denomination 100 DOLLARS inscribed along the lower rim. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features a finely detailed depiction of a prowling tiger rendered in high relief, crouching forward with mouth agape over a rocky surface, its striped coat rendered with great sculptural precision. A decorative seal-script Chinese character cartouche appears in the lower left of the central field, accompanied by stylized cloud motifs. Encircling the central motif is a beaded border with the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac rendered in raised relief at intervals around the inner ring. The legend YEAR OF THE TIGER arcs along the upper portion of the outer border, accompanied by a floral ornament and Chinese characters 戊寅 to the right. The denomination $100 is inscribed at the base of the design within the outer legend band. |
