| Obverse description | The obverse is executed in a dark intaglio style and presents, at left, an oval portrait vignette of a Chinese imperial official in traditional court dress and mandarin hat. To the right, a large scenic vignette fills the field, combining a dramatic sky with a Chinese dragon emerging from clouds above a broad landscape with agricultural workers in the foreground. The denomination numerals '100' appear at each upper corner, flanking the Chinese title inscription along the top border, with a further inscription running along the lower margin. |
