Obverse description Central vignette of a peregrine falcon set against the Portland city skyline, with the Duckbill sandstone rock formation from Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area — famously toppled by vandals in 2016 — incorporated into the design. The state motto 'She Flies With Her Own Wings' appears in inscription, alongside the year of Oregon's statehood, 1859. An eagle hologram serves as the principal security device.
