Obverse description The Arms of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas are prominently displayed in the centre of the field, featuring a shield with a British galleon on the sea beneath a rising sun, supported by a marlin to the left and a flamingo to the right, with a conch shell-crested helm and a wreath of flowers above. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the exergue. The circular legend 'COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMAS' arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, while the date '1975' appears in the lower field. The coin is struck to proof standard with sharp, high-relief detail throughout.
