Obverse description The reverse of the American Double Eagle gold coin design, adapted for this Liberian commemorative issue, features a majestic bald eagle in full flight with wings dramatically spread, rendered in high relief in the style of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Radiating sunrays emanate from behind and below the eagle, filling the lower field with a bold sunburst motif. The upper arc of the coin bears the two-line legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA / HUNDRED DOLLARS' in bold raised lettering, while the date '2000' appears within a small raised cartouche at the base of the design.
