| Obverse description | The sixth and final definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the central field, depicting the crowned and draped right-facing bust of the monarch adorned with the George IV State Diadem, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery, accompanied by the regnal dates 1952 - 2022 across the upper field, commemorating her reign. The inscription AUSTRALIA appears along the right periphery, while the denomination 100 DOLLARS is displayed along the lower border. The engraver's initials JC appear discreetly at the lower left of the portrait, within a raised inner border that frames the entire design. |

| Reverse description | A finely detailed depiction of an adult emu stands prominently in the centre of the field, its richly textured plumage rendered with exceptional relief against an arid Australian outback landscape featuring scattered rocks and sparse scrubland. Two emu chicks flank the adult bird at lower left and lower right, adding naturalistic depth to the composition. The legend AUSTRALIAN EMU arcs boldly along the upper border against a burnished background, while the date 2023, weight 1 OZ, and purity 9999 GOLD are inscribed along the lower border. The Perth Mint's P mintmark appears to the left of the adult emu's neck, and the engraver's initials SR are located at the lower right of the design. |

Australia's emu bullion series occupies an unusual position among Perth Mint gold issues — unlike the Kangaroo series, which carries legal tender status and annual design rotation, the emu releases have been produced more selectively, making year-specific runs genuinely limited rather than nominally so. The 6th Portrait of Elizabeth II, by sculptor Jody Clark, was adopted by the Perth Mint on Australian coinage following the Royal Mint's transition in 2015, and remained in use until the Queen's death in September 2022. Coins dated 2023 bearing her effigy were struck posthumously under a transitional arrangement before Charles III portraiture was introduced.
