| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Jamaican coat of arms at center, featuring a quartered shield bearing a cross with five golden pineapples, supported by a male and female Taino figure, each richly detailed in period dress. An American crocodile surmounts the helm above the shield, and a ribbon below bears the national motto. The legend ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS arcs along the upper periphery, while JAMAICA 1976 appears along the lower periphery. The fineness inscription 900/1000 FINE GOLD is engraved in the exergue directly beneath the shield, and the Franklin Mint initials FM appear discreetly in the field. |
