| Obverse description | The central field features the coat of arms of Liberia, depicting a sailing ship on the sea before a rising sun, a palm tree to the right, and a dove in flight above, all enclosed within a shield. The date 1996 is divided to the left and right of the shield, and the denomination 100 DOLLARS appears in the exergue. The outer legend reads REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA along the upper arc, with THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE along the inner arc.
