| Additional information |
Józef Piłsudski died in 1935, yet his rehabilitation as Poland's founding military hero took decades — suppressed under communist rule and fully restored only after 1989. This coin was issued as part of a broader Polish commemorative program routed through Niue, a common arrangement that allows Polish state-adjacent institutions to produce legal tender silver issues outside National Bank of Poland restrictions.
At a kilogram of .999 silver, these large-format issues are produced in strictly limited quantities and rarely enter anything resembling circulation. KM#3090 is cataloged under Niue but the creative and commercial impetus is entirely Polish.
