| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear on the truncation, centered within a segmented inner circle flanked by two ornate gear-motif medallions. The date 20 21 is divided to either side of the portrait at the mid-field. Below the portrait, a decorative endless knot symbol in high relief occupies the lower central field. The legend ELIZABETH II - TOKELAU arcs along the lower periphery, while 100 DOLLARS curves along the upper rim, all framed by a laurel wreath border on a fine guilloche background. |

| Additional information |
Tokelau has no monetary infrastructure of its own — no mint, no central bank, no domestic currency in practical use. Its coinage is produced under contract by the New Zealand Mint and issued largely for the numismatic export market, with legal tender status that exists on paper for a territory whose resident population hovers around 1,500 people spread across three atolls. The Chronos series specifically targets the bullion collector market, with .9999 fineness positioning it directly against sovereign issues from far larger nations.
