| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted diademed and draped, set within a circular medallion occupying the upper half of the field. Below the portrait, the lower half of the obverse features an elaborate Gothic-style ornamental lattice with quatrefoil motifs rendered in high relief, evoking medieval architectural tracery. The legend ELIZABETH II appears to the left and NIUE ISLAND to the right, both along the upper periphery.
