| Obverse description | The obverse features a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as rendered by Susanna Taylor, depicting the Queen at approximately 77 years of age with bare head, wearing a necklace and earrings. The portrait is executed in a refined, contemporary style with delicate detail in the facial features and jewelry. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 100 DOLLARS appears in the lower field. The Latin legend translates as Elizabeth II, Queen by the Grace of God. |

Issued to mark the centenary of Bell's death, this coin reflects Canada's long-standing claim on Bell's legacy — he took Canadian citizenship in 1882 and conducted much of his experimental work at his Baddeck estate in Nova Scotia, where the Aerial Experiment Association also developed the Silver Dart, the first powered aircraft flown in Canada. The RCM has leaned heavily on the Bell association over the years, making this one of several issues in a recurring commemorative thread rather than a singular release.
