| Reverse description | Two Australian black swans are depicted in a graceful facing pose at centre, their elongated necks curving inward to form a heart-shaped composition as they float upon stylised water rendered with fine engraved detail. The feathering of each bird is meticulously modelled, conveying both naturalism and artistic elegance. The engraver's initials 'JM' appear at lower left within the field, with the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark positioned to the right. The surrounding legend 'THE 1OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN GOLD SWAN' is arranged along the upper and lower periphery within a recessed border, separated from the inner design by a raised inner circle. |

| Additional information |
The Australian Swan series from Perth Mint targets the bullion-adjacent collector market, but the swan itself carries specific local weight: the black swan is native to Western Australia, the state where the Perth Mint has operated since 1899. The 6th portrait of Elizabeth II — by sculptor Jody Clark, adopted by Australia in 2019 — appears on remarkably few Perth issues before the Queen's death in September 2022, making that year's production a hard cutoff.
Whether this example was struck before or after 8 September 2022 is unrecorded in the series documentation.
