Obverse description The sixth and final official effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile bust wearing the George IV State Diadem, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field and AUSTRALIA descends along the right, while the denomination 100 DOLLARS is inscribed in the lower field, flanked by raised dots. The engraver's initials JC appear on the truncation of the effigy. The frosted relief of the portrait contrasts sharply with the mirror-polished proof fields.
